Meta is adding new capabilities and communication options to Muse, its recently launched AI agent, including dedicated email addresses, computer control and live video conversations.
Muse agents will receive email addresses they can use to carry out tasks. Users will also be able to contact their agents through those addresses. Meta plans to update the Muse app for Mac so the agent can operate a user’s computer, expanding its ability to perform actions beyond its original chat interface.
The company also plans to let users hold live video calls with an AI avatar. Users can already customize the avatar’s appearance and will be able to adjust its voice. A new model called Muse Realtime Avatar will control how the avatar moves during conversations.
Meta said Muse will also come to its smart glasses in the coming months, allowing wearers to ask the agent about objects or scenes they are viewing.
Muse launched earlier in September. The Verge reported that it topped Apple’s App Store charts and was downloaded more often on mobile than ChatGPT during its first 12 days, though no download figures were provided.
