A taxpayer-funded advertising campaign centered on President Donald Trump began airing Wednesday on national cable and expanded Thursday to national networks, including CBS.
The first ad opens with Trump saying, “We will defeat communism, socialism and Marxism in America.” Set to JMSN’s song “Love Me,” it shows rapid-cut images of Trump at rallies, in the White House and alongside military leaders, among other settings. On-screen text promotes tax cuts, domestic manufacturing and law enforcement while repeatedly declaring that “America will never be a communist country.” The ad closes with Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White praising Trump’s resilience and dedication to the country.
The advertisement includes a disclosure stating that it was “Paid for by the U.S. Government.” CBS News reported that the government produced the content and purchased airtime through an advertising agency. Multiple 30- and 60-second versions were created.
A second ad, recounting the U.S. capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and featuring Trump and senior Cabinet officials, aired Thursday evening.
The White House denied that the spots are political advertisements, calling them public service announcements intended to encourage patriotism. An official said Trump is not on the ballot and the ads contain no call to action.
JMSN said on X that he did not authorize the use of “Love Me” and had not been asked for permission, adding that he would not approve his music for a political agenda or campaign.
