Ed Sheeran’s concerts scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts have been canceled because of severe weather warnings across Boston and New England.
The venue said the promoter and tour made the decision after consulting local officials, citing the safety of fans, staff and others involved in the shows. The approaching nor’easter was expected to bring heavy rainfall to the region.
Tickets are refundable, and fans who bought them through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds, according to Gillette Stadium.
The cancellations follow other disruptions to the U.S. tour. Earlier in September, rapper Macklemore was removed as an opening act after shouting “Free Palestine” during a New Jersey performance, Al Jazeera reported. Several other scheduled performers subsequently withdrew from the tour in solidarity with him.
