Bose has introduced its first new wired earbuds since 2015, returning to the category with a $99 USB-C model featuring active noise cancellation.
The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds use two microphones in each earpiece with the company’s QuietControl technology. Listeners can switch among Quiet Mode, Aware Mode and ANC Off using physical controls on an inline remote, which also handles volume, playback and calls. A separate microphone on the remote is designed to capture the wearer’s voice while reducing unwanted noise.
The earbuds connect to compatible phones and laptops through a 4.2-foot USB-C cable and support lossless audio with minimal latency. They carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating and include three sizes of silicone ear tips, two sizes of stability wings and a carrying case.
The model is available for preorder from Bose and Best Buy in Black, White Smoke and a limited-edition Dewdrop Mint. Bose said shipments are expected to begin October 15, although its online store lists October 13.
Bose developed the product in about eight or nine months, company consumer-audio president Raza Haider told Wired. Haider said he noticed widespread use of wired earbuds among college students, while sales data cited by Wired showed the category growing in late 2025 and early 2026.
