President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance began a campaign push Thursday aimed at boosting Republican candidates and voter enthusiasm ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Trump was scheduled to campaign in Texas and Oklahoma, starting what he described as a 32-day blitz. His Oklahoma rally, held in the Choctaw Nation, marks a rare visit by a sitting president to a tribal nation. Trump will appear with Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Mazzei, who is running against Democratic state House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson.

Vance was campaigning in Florida. Trump is also expected to visit Alabama, Ohio and Nebraska as Republicans seek to retain control of Congress. Several of the stops are in states that have traditionally favored Republicans but where party candidates are facing stronger-than-expected competition or lagging enthusiasm.

Trump told reporters Wednesday that Republicans were not adequately promoting his administration’s record. “I’m going out because nobody’s selling it,” he said.

An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll cited by Fortune found that 17% of U.S. adults approved of Trump’s handling of the cost of living, while 26% approved of his management of the economy.

The Republican National Committee said the tour would energize the party’s base and support candidates. Democratic organizations characterized the visits as evidence that Republicans are worried about increasingly competitive races.
