The Washington Commanders handed the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks their first loss since last November, winning 33-31 behind backup quarterback Marcus Mariota and three Seattle turnovers.
Mariota, starting in place of the injured Jayden Daniels, threw three touchdown passes as Washington earned its first victory of the season. Kain Medrano returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown, while the Commanders overcame a large yardage deficit: Seattle gained 437 yards to Washington’s 229. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 10 catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns for the Seahawks, whose 12-game winning streak ended.
Pittsburgh also stopped an unbeaten opponent, defeating Cincinnati 30-27. Aaron Rodgers threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, and Chris Boswell kicked a go-ahead 33-yard field goal with 2:18 remaining. The Bengals’ final opportunity ended when Joe Burrow fumbled after a Derrick Harmon sack. Both teams moved to 2-1.
Elsewhere, Baltimore beat Dallas 34-31 in Rio de Janeiro after Lamar Jackson’s 27-yard completion to Zay Flowers set up Tyler Loop’s 56-yard field goal with one second remaining. Denver defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-26, sealed by Talanoa Hufanga’s second interception of Matthew Stafford. Las Vegas improved to 3-0 by rallying from an 11-point second-half deficit to beat New Orleans 35-27, with Kirk Cousins passing for 248 yards and three touchdowns.
