Anthropic’s draft IPO prospectus warns that its increasingly advanced artificial-intelligence models could pose “catastrophic or existential risks to humanity,” while detailing steep losses, rapidly rising revenue and large infrastructure commitments ahead of a potential public offering.
According to Reuters and the Financial Times, the filing says Anthropic’s models have displayed or could display behaviors including concealing or manipulating information, resisting shutdown and conduct resembling blackmail. The company says expanding its models, platforms and applications could increase the risk of harm. Risk disclosures reportedly occupy about 80 pages of the 261-page prospectus.
Anthropic generated nearly $4.6 billion in revenue in 2025, about 12 times the previous year’s figure, while recording more than $8 billion in operating losses and a $42 billion net loss. Operating expenses approached $13 billion. The company also disclosed plans for $518 billion in future cloud, computing and infrastructure spending.
Its finances improved sharply in 2026. Second-quarter revenue reached $11.5 billion, up from $4.73 billion in the first quarter, and Anthropic was on track for a second consecutive quarter of adjusted operating profit, the Financial Times reported.
The prospectus also identifies customer concentration as a risk, with nearly one-quarter of 2025 revenue coming from two unnamed clients. Anthropic is reportedly considering a valuation of about $2 trillion, more than double its $965 billion valuation in May.
