Ireland’s mild start to October is expected to continue through Tuesday before cooler conditions arrive in the middle of the week, according to Met Éireann.
Monday will remain cloudy and humid in most areas, with patches of rain, drizzle and mist. Rain is expected to persist in the north and west, while the south and east should become drier. Temperatures could reach 20 degrees after an overnight low of 13-15 degrees.
Dull and wet weather will return to the north and west on Tuesday morning before moving south across the country. Temperatures will reach up to 18 degrees, with the southeast likely to be warmest. Once the rain clears, Tuesday night will turn cooler, with lows of 5-9 degrees.
Wednesday is forecast to be cool and bright with occasional showers and moderate to fresh breezes. Daytime temperatures are not expected to exceed 14 degrees. Thursday should begin mainly dry with early sunshine, although rain will move into northern and western areas later.
Similar conditions are expected toward the weekend, with a mixture of cloudy and clear spells, limited rainfall and daytime highs of about 13-15 degrees.
