Monday, Oct. 5, was the deadline for Texans to register to vote or update their registration ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Election officials encouraged voters to confirm that their registrations remained active and listed their current home addresses.
In Ector County, the elections office opened Monday for in-person registration checks, while eligible residents could also register or update their information through a volunteer deputy registrar. Voters elsewhere in Texas could locate their county election offices through the secretary of state’s website.
A Texas Department of Public Safety system error had delayed the delivery of online voter-registration requests dating to October 2025, but Ector County outreach coordinator Amanda Snyder said affected county residents would remain eligible to vote. She also said delayed voter certificates may not arrive before Election Day, but the cards are not required at polling places. Texas voters must instead present an accepted form of government identification.
Georgia outlets also reported a final registration push, including increased activity in Columbia and Richmond counties and a decline of nearly 200 voters on Floyd County’s rolls. Cobb County promoted registration during National Voter Education Week. Georgia’s early-voting period is scheduled for Oct. 13 through Oct. 30, while early voting in Texas runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 30.
