Country singer Ella Langley canceled her sold-out concert at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday after what she described as a “serious security threat” involving fans, venue staff and her team.
The decision was announced about two hours before the performance was scheduled to begin at the 19,000-seat arena. Langley, 27, called the cancellation “incredibly difficult” and apologized to fans. She said information about ticket refunds would be provided as soon as possible.
Tulsa Police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said someone called authorities and threatened “great harm” at the event, referring to shots being fired and bombs. Officers had checked the venue several times before the show and conducted another sweep with detection dogs after the call, but found no threat.
“We could not find a credible threat,” Meulenberg said, adding that the venue had been ready for the concert to proceed.
The BOK Center said the show could not continue after careful consideration, citing the safety and well-being of everyone involved as its priority. The venue apologized to those who had planned to attend.
