Meta launched Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full on Monday, describing them as its most capable artificial intelligence models to date and saying the company has reached the industry’s technological “frontier.” The models are intended to strengthen Meta’s Muse personal agent and compete with offerings from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Muse Wonder will initially be available to paid Muse subscribers, whose plans cost $20 or $100 a month, and through Meta’s model API. Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang told CNBC that it was trained to pursue alternative approaches when real-world tasks encounter setbacks rather than repeatedly returning to the user. Meta also says the model has “active memory” to retain relevant details across conversations and “active focus” to continue working toward a goal.
The more powerful Muse Wonder Full is available through Muse Code, Meta’s software-engineering agent, on subscription tiers costing $50 or $200 a month. Engadget reported API pricing for Muse Wonder of $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens.
Meta said Muse Wonder includes its strongest protections yet against cyber misuse. The rollout follows complaints from some Muse users that the agent accessed personal messages without authorization, an allegation the company disputes. Wang said some users may have previously authorized communications and later forgotten, and that Meta is working to explain the app’s behavior more clearly.
Meta shares rose about 4% in afternoon trading, according to CNA.
