Apple unveiled HomeView, its first smart-home display, alongside refreshed Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models and a new collection of connected-home accessories at its “Welcome Home” event in New York on Tuesday.
The $299 HomeView has a 7-inch touchscreen and comes in countertop and wall-mounted versions, both scheduled to go on sale November 13. Its customizable, Apple Watch-style faces can display clocks, photos, weather information and widgets. The device supports FaceTime through a 12-megapixel front camera, as well as Messages, music, podcasts, recipes and smart-home controls.
Powered by an A18 chip, HomeView uses Siri AI and can recognize up to six household members, switching from a shared screen to personalized information such as calendars, messages and reminders. Apple said personal data is drawn from a user’s iPhone rather than stored on the display and disappears when that person walks away. Some personalized Siri features require an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone.
Apple also introduced the Apple Home Collection, six accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup includes a $349 LG smart lock, a $249 video doorbell, indoor and outdoor security cameras priced from $199 to $399, and two $199 Matter-compatible thermostats. The devices can be controlled through HomeView or other Apple products.
HomeView is available in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. Apple opened preorders following the announcement.
