Google has introduced the Fitbit Edge, a $180 fitness tracker positioned between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5 in its wearable lineup. The device offers more health sensors than the Air but lacks the broader app support and smartwatch features of the Pixel Watch 5.
The Edge has a pill-shaped 1.34-inch OLED touchscreen set in an aluminum frame, with IP68 dust protection and a 5 ATM water-resistance rating. According to Ars Technica, its display provides 46% more viewable area than the aging Fitbit Charge 6, which the new model closely resembles in function. A single tactile side button can wake the tracker and start or pause workouts, while most controls use the touchscreen.
The tracker connects to Android phones and iPhones through the Google Health app and uses the same magnetic charging puck as the Fitbit Air. Google rates battery life at about seven days with the always-on display disabled; enabling that feature cuts the estimate to roughly two days. When separated from a phone, the Edge can store seven days of full health information or 30 days of basic data.
The Fitbit Edge is Google’s second Fitbit tracker release of 2026.
