Israeli strikes killed Palestinians in Gaza City and Rafah amid continued attacks across the enclave, according to hospital and emergency officials cited by regional media.
A strike on an apartment in Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighbourhood early Wednesday killed Reem Asaad Awad, 33, and wounded two other people, Al Jazeera reported, citing Anadolu and a source at Al Shifa hospital. The attack caused extensive damage to the apartment and nearby buildings and sparked a large fire. Awad’s young daughter was rescued from the blaze.
Israel said it was investigating the Gaza City strike and claimed the target was a Hamas member, but Al Jazeera said it provided no evidence supporting that assertion. IMEMC News also reported that a woman was killed and children were injured in the attack.
Separately, Middle East Eye reported that an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in Rafah, in southern Gaza, killed at least one Palestinian and wounded another, citing Al Jazeera and ambulance and emergency-service sources. It said four other Palestinians had been killed in Israeli drone attacks in Gaza since Saturday morning.
