Rajinikanth’s action thriller *Jailer 2* has grossed Rs 317.15 crore worldwide during its first three days in theatres, according to figures from industry tracker Sacnilk reported by The Indian Express.
The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel opened on October 15 and earned Rs 59.70 crore net in India on its first day, surpassing the Rs 48.35 crore opening reported for 2023’s *Jailer*. Its opening-day worldwide gross was reported at Rs 125.25 crore, supported by Rs 55 crore from overseas markets.
Domestic net collections fell by more than 40% on the second day before recovering to Rs 47.80 crore on Saturday. Through three days, the film had earned Rs 144.60 crore net and Rs 169.65 crore gross in India. The Tamil version accounted for most of Saturday’s business, collecting Rs 34.60 crore, while the Telugu and Hindi versions earned Rs 8.50 crore and Rs 4.25 crore, respectively.
The Hindi-dubbed release faced restrictions after major multiplex chains reportedly declined to screen it because of a dispute over the proposed interval between its theatrical and streaming releases.
Produced by Sun Pictures, *Jailer 2* returns Rajinikanth to the role of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Its ensemble cast includes Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty, with Hrithik Roshan appearing in a cameo. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music.
