Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress has outlined a proposed nationwide campaign schedule ahead of the 2027 general elections, with President Bola Tinubu expected to attend rallies in 12 states.
The itinerary begins in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, and continues through Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, Borno, Enugu, Bauchi, Sokoto, Delta, Kano and Adamawa before a closing rally in Lagos on January 9, 2027. The wider campaign is expected to cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Party groups and officials have begun mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election. APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda predicted that Tinubu would receive more than 70% of northern votes, citing infrastructure, healthcare and education initiatives. In Kwara, more than 30 groups affiliated with the Oniyangi Progressive Alliance endorsed Tinubu and APC candidates, while party stakeholders in Kebbi’s Zuru Emirate backed both Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris.
The APC Youth Network West Africa also announced plans to open a Lagos secretariat and expand outreach in communities, campuses and markets. Presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga said support from 33 governors reflected confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and economic policies.
Elsewhere, Accord’s Lagos chairman, Oladele Oladeji, sought clarification over the reported appointment of Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke as Tinubu’s campaign coordinator in the state, questioning its implications for Accord. Israel Afeare, an aide to musician Davido, separately rejected Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo’s pledge to deliver 2.5 million votes for Tinubu and endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
