Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire customer-engagement platform Braze for about $5.66 billion, expanding the software company’s artificial intelligence-powered marketing offerings.
Under the agreement, holders of Braze Class A common stock will receive $47.50 in cash for each share. Braze shares had closed at $30.04 on Monday and surged more than 50% on Tuesday after the announcement, while Salesforce shares slipped about 1% in morning trading, CNBC reported.
Braze provides AI-based tools that help companies manage customer data and communicate with customers across multiple channels. Its technology is expected to be integrated with Salesforce’s platform.
The acquisition is expected to close during Salesforce’s fiscal 2028, subject to approval by Braze shareholders and regulators. Braze CEO Bill Magnuson said the companies would continue investing in Braze’s customer and partner community and use Salesforce’s platform to accelerate product development.
The agreement follows Salesforce’s planned acquisition of AI customer-service platform Fin for about $3.6 billion, announced several months earlier as part of its expansion in enterprise AI tools.
