Ireland’s mild start to October is expected to continue through Tuesday before temperatures fall sharply in the middle of the week, according to Met Éireann.
Monday will begin cloudy in most areas, with patches of rain, drizzle and mist following a very mild night. Humid conditions will persist, with further rain likely in the north and west while the south and east become drier. Temperatures could reach 20 degrees.
Tuesday morning is forecast to bring dull and wet weather to the north and west, with the rain moving south during the day. Temperatures may reach 18 degrees, with the southeast likely to be warmest. Cooler air will follow as the rain clears, bringing overnight lows of 5 to 9 degrees.
Wednesday is expected to be cool and bright, with occasional showers and moderate to fresh breezes. Daytime temperatures are not forecast to exceed 14 degrees. Thursday should begin mainly dry with early sunshine before rain reaches the north and west later.
Little change is expected toward the weekend. Most areas are forecast to have a mixture of cloudy and clear spells, limited rainfall and daytime highs of about 13 to 15 degrees.
