Walmart has introduced a combined Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus membership for $120 a year, offering the two programs at a discount of about $100 compared with buying them separately, according to the company.
The bundle includes access to members-only prices at Sam’s Club and free delivery on eligible goods from Walmart and Sam’s Club. Members also receive a Peacock or Paramount+ subscription plan, discounts of 10 cents per gallon at 17,000 U.S. gas stations and rewards on eligible purchases.
Existing customers can move to the combined plan. Walmart+ members can upgrade for an additional $22 annually, while Sam’s Club members can pay $60 more to upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus and receive Walmart+.
“For $120 a year, we’re raising expectations for what a membership can deliver: more money in their pockets and more time to call their own,” Walmart CEO John Furner said in a statement.
The new offer comes as Walmart emphasizes lower prices and discounts for consumers facing elevated costs. Some analysts cited by MarketWatch questioned how many customers would use enough of the bundle’s benefits to make it worthwhile and how easily shoppers could assess its value.
