Police have arrested seven people in connection with the October 18 shooting targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Shroff was not injured, but his driver, Firdaus, suffered an injury to his left hand and a bystander was also wounded and taken to hospital.
Three suspects accused of carrying out the attack were arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan the following day. On October 20, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four others — Kunal, 21, Sumit, 19, Radha, 23, and Babita, 23 — for allegedly helping procure and transport a firearm to Mumbai and coordinate the operation.
According to police, Kunal and Sumit collected a pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition in Amritsar on instructions from alleged coordinator Anil Pandit. Investigators allege that Radha and Babita then carried the concealed weapon by train from Delhi to Mumbai, where a minor collected the bag on October 17. The Special Cell’s statement did not establish conclusively that the pistol was used in the shooting.
Police said Pandit communicated through an encrypted messaging application and later instructed Kunal to help the alleged shooters leave Mumbai. Maharashtra Police formally arrested the four after receiving court permission to question them in custody.
Investigators also suspect the attack followed weeks of surveillance of Shroff’s movements. An online claim of responsibility attributed to Pandit and linking the shooting to Shroff’s work with actor Salman Khan has not been verified by authorities.
