Arsenal earned a 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich on Wednesday after Declan Rice scored a late equaliser at the Allianz Arena.
The visitors lost Bukayo Saka to a thigh injury in the 10th minute, but his replacement, Eberechi Eze, opened the scoring in the 25th after a through ball from Martin Odegaard. Bayern responded 10 minutes later when Harry Kane released Alphonso Davies with a pass through midfield and the defender finished into the bottom corner.
Kane put Bayern ahead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute after his shot struck Jurrien Timber’s arm. It was Kane’s 16th goal in 23 career appearances against Arsenal and extended his Champions League scoring streak to 10 matches.
Rice levelled in the 82nd minute, exchanging passes with Viktor Gyokeres before beating Manuel Neuer with a low shot. Arsenal remained unbeaten in the league phase with seven points from three matches, while Bayern moved to five points after a second consecutive European draw.
Bayern were without suspended winger Michael Olise and midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who missed the match following a death in his immediate family. Defender Kim Min-jae started but was replaced by Jonathan Tah at halftime.
Bayern later said forward Luis Diaz, who entered in the 68th minute and went off in stoppage time, suffered a minor tear in his left hamstring and will be sidelined for the time being.
