Walmart has introduced a combined Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus membership costing $120 a year, bringing the retailers’ subscription programs together at a discount.
The company said the annual plan saves customers about $100 compared with purchasing both memberships separately. It includes members-only prices at Sam’s Club, free delivery on eligible goods from Walmart and Sam’s Club, rewards on eligible purchases and a discount of 10 cents per gallon at 17,000 U.S. gas stations. Members can also choose an eligible Peacock or Paramount+ streaming subscription.
Existing subscribers can move to the joint plan. Walmart+ members can upgrade for an additional $22 annually, while Sam’s Club members can pay $60 more to upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus and receive Walmart+ as part of the package.
“For $120 a year, we’re raising expectations for what a membership can deliver: more money in their pockets and more time to call their own,” Walmart CEO John Furner said in a statement.
The new offering gives Walmart a single discounted membership spanning its main retail business and warehouse-club chain as consumers continue to prioritize prices and discounts.
