Rajinikanth’s *Jailer 2* reached an estimated ₹666.30 crore in worldwide ticket sales after 10 days in theatres, according to figures from industry tracker Sacnilk reported by The Indian Express. The film earned ₹16.25 crore net in India on its 10th day, taking its domestic net total to ₹373 crore and domestic gross to ₹436.80 crore.
The sequel has surpassed the reported ₹604.74 crore lifetime worldwide gross of 2023’s *Jailer*. It is about ₹25 crore short of the ₹691 crore attributed to Rajinikanth’s *2.0*, currently listed as the highest-grossing Tamil film worldwide. Daily domestic net collections slowed from ₹28.15 crore on Wednesday to ₹17.15 crore on Thursday and ₹14.50 crore on Friday before rising to ₹16.25 crore on Saturday.
Amid the film’s theatrical run, Rajinikanth attended a late-night IMAX screening with fans at Chennai’s Phoenix Mall on Friday. Sun Pictures said it was the first time in 40 years that the actor had watched one of his films in a theatre with fans. Composer Anirudh Ravichander also attended, while a video shared by the production company showed Rajinikanth greeting director Nelson Dilipkumar after the screening.
Directed by Nelson and released on October 15, the action sequel features an ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal and Hrithik Roshan.
