Jon Stewart will continue hosting Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” on Mondays and serving as an executive producer through December 2028, extending his tenure through the next U.S. presidential election cycle.
Skydance Television announced the extension Monday. “We are excited to continue our partnership with Jon and his award-winning news team,” George Cheeks, the company’s co-chair and chief content officer, said in a statement.
Correspondents and contributors Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper and Michael Kosta will continue rotating as hosts from Tuesday through Thursday. The satirical late-night program airs on Comedy Central and becomes available on Paramount+ the following day.
Stewart, 63, originally hosted “The Daily Show” from 1999 until 2015 and returned in 2024 as a once-a-week host. Trevor Noah succeeded him and led the program from 2015 to 2022. After Noah’s departure, the show used a rotating lineup of guest hosts in 2023, including Leslie Jones, Kosta and Chelsea Handler.
Comedy Central is owned by Skydance Media, which completed its merger with Paramount Global earlier in 2026 and was renamed Skydance Corp.
