Israeli airstrikes killed five Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Monday, including a seven-year-old girl, according to medical officials and Gaza’s civil defence.
Three people were killed when a strike hit a camp for displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, Nasser Hospital said. The hospital identified them as Hossam al-Zamli, Tamer Abu Sneima and Jouri al-Soufi. Several others, including a woman and a child, were wounded. Gaza’s civil defence reported another death in a strike on a tent near Khan Younis, while Al-Shifa Hospital said one person was killed and three injured in Gaza City’s Rimal neighbourhood.
Civil defence spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said Israeli fire and airstrikes had killed 13 people and wounded about 60 in Gaza over the preceding 24 hours. Israel’s military told AFP it was not aware of military activity in Al-Mawasi on Monday.
The attacks came as the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry alleged that Israel has continued “genocidal acts” in Gaza despite a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. The commission said Israeli forces had expanded their territorial control from 53% to at least 60% of Gaza and that fire near the advancing boundary had killed at least 196 Palestinians, including 43 children, during the ceasefire period. Israel rejected the commission’s findings.
Gaza health authorities say more than 1,500 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began.
