President Donald Trump praised rapper Nicki Minaj’s appearance during a campaign rally Sunday in Port Huron, Michigan, where she endorsed Republican candidates and expressed continued support for him.
While recounting an earlier remark about Ohio Sen. Jon Husted, Trump told the crowd he had seen “one hell of a beautiful ass before: Nicki Minaj,” adding, “That’s hard to miss.” The Independent reported that Trump also asked Minaj to display her rear to the crowd.
Minaj appeared as one of the rally’s final speakers and led chants supporting Mike Rogers and John James, the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate and governor, respectively. Addressing Trump, she said it was “an honor to stand with you” and added, “If you run again, I will support you again.” She also told the crowd she loved him and would support him “forever and ever.” The Constitution bars Trump from being elected to a third presidential term.
Minaj also toured Air Force One with White House communications director Steven Cheung, who later joked on social media that she could become the next White House press secretary.
Her appearance reflects a change from 2020, when The Hill reported that Minaj said she would not “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.” In 2018, she also criticized the Trump administration’s family-separation immigration policy.
