Apple unveiled a new iPad mini on Monday with an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, an A20 Pro processor and a thinner, lighter design, according to The Indian Express.
The display offers peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, while narrower bezels allow the larger screen to fit within the previous model’s footprint. The tablet is 5.4 mm thick, carries an IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating, and will be sold in midnight and starlight finishes with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Apple said the 2-nanometre A20 Pro delivers up to 60% faster multithreaded CPU performance, 2.7 times faster graphics and 4.5 times faster AI performance than the previous model. The 512GB version includes a dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Other updates include a landscape-oriented 12-megapixel Center Stage front camera, a 12-megapixel rear camera, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread support. Cellular models use Apple’s C2 modem. The device runs iPadOS 27, supports new Apple Intelligence and Siri features in beta, and works with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C).
In India, prices start at Rs 82,900 for Wi-Fi and Rs 1,00,900 for Wi-Fi plus cellular. Pre-orders open October 28, with deliveries and store availability beginning November 6.
