Actor Noah Wyle has been named People magazine’s 2026 “Sexiest Man Alive,” receiving the title for the first time at age 55.
Wyle, who stars as emergency-room doctor Michael “Robby” Robinavitch in HBO Max’s *The Pitt*, told People he initially suspected the news was a joke. “I thought that sounded like a prank – just not in a million years did I think that this would be an honour bestowed on me,” he said.
His wife, actor Sara Wyle, encouraged him to accept the recognition. According to the *South China Morning Post*, Wyle said she believed his character as a person, father and husband was worth promoting. His children reacted with disbelief and jokes about the attention the title might bring, he told the magazine.
Wyle previously appeared with his *ER* co-star George Clooney on a People cover featuring the show’s male cast members. Clooney later received the annual title twice, in 1997 and 2006.
Wyle said he expects teasing from friends and family following the announcement. *The Pitt* is scheduled to return for its third season in January on HBO Max.
