The Atlanta Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries 80-69 in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals, extending the best-of-seven championship series to a winner-take-all Game 7.

Atlanta entered Game 6 facing elimination after Golden State won the previous two contests to take a 3-2 series lead. In Game 5, the Valkyries held the Dream to a season-low 55 points in a 64-55 victory at Chase Center. Kiah Stokes and Veronica Burton each recorded 13 points and eight rebounds, while Golden State limited Atlanta to 19-of-65 shooting and converted 17 Dream turnovers into 21 points.

Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 20 points in that loss, while Angel Reese had seven points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Stokes added three blocks and Burton had four as the Valkyries moved within one victory of the title.

The Dream’s Game 6 response tied the series at three wins apiece. Atlanta and Golden State will now meet once more to decide the WNBA championship.
