The Chicago Bears acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in a trade Thursday, according to multiple reports.
A person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press that Chicago will send first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028, plus a fourth-round pick in the next draft, to Tennessee. The Bears will receive Simmons and a fifth-round selection in 2028. The person spoke anonymously because the trade had not yet been announced.
Simmons, 29, has four sacks through seven games this season. He earned first-team All-Pro honors last season after recording a career-high 11 sacks in 15 games.
The move adds Simmons to a Bears defensive line that had been a concern as Chicago enters Monday night’s game at Seattle with a 5-2 record. The Bears have won two consecutive games and are pursuing the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.
Chicago went 11-6 and won the division last season, its first under coach Ben Johnson. The Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers in a wild-card playoff game before losing to the Los Angeles Rams in overtime in the divisional round.
Tennessee receives three draft selections, including two future first-rounders, in exchange for Simmons and the 2028 fifth-round pick.
