Apple unveiled updated 14-inch MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac models powered by its M6 chip on October 27. Pre-orders opened October 28, with availability beginning November 6.

The M6 includes a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the new 14-inch MacBook Pro delivers up to 30% faster graphics and 25% faster AI workloads than the M5 model. It also offers up to 24 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and three Thunderbolt 4 ports. The laptop starts with 16GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage, while its Liquid Retina XDR display has an optional nano-texture finish. U.S. pricing starts at $1,999 in space black or silver. Apple did not announce an M6 update for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which remains available with M5 Pro or M5 Max chips.

The refreshed iMac retains a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and is offered in seven colors. Apple says it provides up to five times faster on-device AI performance than the previous M4 model, along with storage that is up to twice as fast. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, optional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Both Macs run macOS 27 and support Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features, as well as locally run AI models. Apple said the new hardware is designed to accelerate tasks including image generation, upscaling and large-language-model processing.
