Ireland is forecast to see a mix of showers, sunshine and cloudy conditions over the weekend before a brief rise in temperatures and a cooler turn in the middle of next week, according to Met Éireann.
Friday will bring rain followed by brighter spells and scattered showers, with highs of 11 to 14 degrees. Saturday is expected to be breezy, with sunshine and isolated showers and daytime temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees. Rain will move into southern counties overnight as temperatures fall to between 3 and 7 degrees.
Overcast skies and rain are forecast for Munster and south Leinster on Sunday, spreading more widely during the evening. Temperatures will reach 12 to 16 degrees.
Monday is expected to be wet and windy, although temperatures could rise as high as 20 degrees, with the warmest and driest conditions likely in the south and east. Rain affecting the north and west is forecast to move south across the country on Tuesday, when highs could reach 18 degrees.
Temperatures will then fall, with Tuesday night lows of 5 to 9 degrees. Wednesday is forecast to be cool and bright with occasional showers, moderate to fresh breezes and highs no greater than 14 degrees. Thursday should begin mainly dry and sunny before rain reaches the north and west later.
