A 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and 3-year-old son were found dead at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, authorities said.
Metallica Rose Harrison of Towanda is accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son, identified in a criminal complaint as T.H., in a guest room at the Pocono Mountains resort on Monday, Oct. 12. Police responding to a 911 call found both victims on mattresses. The complaint said Charles Harrison had multiple stab wounds to the chest and the child appeared to have one stab wound to the chest.
According to the complaint, Harrison made the emergency call and told a dispatcher that her husband and son were “already gone.” Investigators found a large butcher knife and a smaller knife in the bathroom; resort staff said the knives were not lodge property.
Harrison had cuts on her wrist and superficial punctures around her neck and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The complaint alleges that she made suicidal statements but declined to speak with detectives after receiving a Miranda warning.
Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso described the deaths as a “violent domestic tragedy.” Authorities said the incident was isolated and posed no threat to the community. Harrison is awaiting a preliminary hearing, and post-mortem examinations remain pending.
