Three suspects have been arrested after gunmen opened fire on actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, injuring his driver and a pedestrian.
The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. as Shroff was leaving a football ground or nearby workplace. Police said two attackers fired five to six rounds at the vehicle, while a third suspect allegedly arranged the motorcycle used in the attack. Early police accounts said Shroff was not struck by a bullet and was safe; later reports said he sustained injuries to his chest and right hand but escaped without serious injury.
Shroff’s driver, identified as Firdous or Firdaus, suffered an injury to his left wrist or hand, and a bystander was also wounded. Both received hospital treatment.
The three suspects, aged 18, 18 and 22, were intercepted aboard a train at Kota railway station in Rajasthan after investigators tracked their movements. A Kota court granted Mumbai Police a 48-hour transit remand. Police said the men may have been attempting to travel through Delhi to Nepal. No firearm had been recovered as of Monday’s police briefing.
Mumbai’s Anti-Extortion Cell is investigating a possible link to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after an alleged member claimed responsibility in an unverified recording or social-media post. Authorities have not confirmed the claim.
Shroff’s team separately warned that fabricated statements and AI-generated videos falsely attributed to the actor were circulating online, saying he had not issued or authorised any communication about the shooting.
