Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage after a 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a lorry on the Cheras-Kajang Highway.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said police received a report at about 6 p.m. following the crash at KM13.1 on Oct. 12. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist, who was travelling from Kuala Lumpur toward Kajang, lost control and fell onto the road. A lorry travelling straight ahead was unable to avoid him and ran him over, killing him at the scene, Naazron said.
The lorry driver had not lodged a police report as of Oct. 13. Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987, which covers reckless or dangerous driving causing death.
Investigators asked anyone who witnessed the crash or recorded it on a dashcam or other device to contact investigating officer Insp Nur Faezah Mohd Zakria at 012-326 8496. Police also urged motorists to observe traffic rules and speed limits and to drive carefully.
