Donnie Wahlberg says pilots saved lives after plane skidded off Las Vegas runway
Actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg said pilots saved the lives of those aboard a plane that skidded off a runway and struck a perimeter fence at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The airport said the aircraft left runway 1L at about 11 a.m. local time and made contact with the fence, prompting a ground stop that lasted several hours. The Federal Aviation Administration told People that eight people were aboard when the pilot aborted takeoff and the plane went off the runway. The airport reported no known injuries.
Wahlberg said in an Instagram video that he was traveling with members of his team and friends when the aircraft failed to become airborne and ran out of runway. He said the plane avoided several fences, heavy airport equipment and vehicles before hitting one fence.
“I’m just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives. And God covered us,” Wahlberg said. …
